What freaking balls!

So, I'm sitting here minding my own business when my phone rings. I don't recognize the number on the caller ID, but I have to answer it anyway because I' am expecting a few important calls.

I answer and this foreign accent calls me by name and says he's doing a credit card survey and asks if I have any credit cards in my name. I answer, "no I don't" and hung up. Not 2 mins later the phone rings again and I don't answer it.

Then less than 2 mins it rings again, only this time the ID says "unknown name - Unknown Number".

I answer knowing damn well it was him again and when I say hello this ass says "Yes David, I have just 2 more questions to ask you..."

I went slap off and hung up on him again... He hasn't called back, but damn what balls it takes for these people to pull something like that!

Not to be paranoid, but I'd watch my credit report if that happened. Sounds like they are trying to complete incomplete information they have on you.

He was certainly trying to get info for something.

That brings up another thing that pisses me off. I pay for caller ID so I can see who's calling, anyone can can hide their number by simply pressing *67 before dialing the number. They can also mask their name and number to make it say soemthing totally different than what it is. Firefighters, Police Protection, etc... Today I get one from "Public Awareness".

Yeah, I don't understand that either. I get one that says "SVCS" What am I suppose to do with that?
Also, I just got a new number, paid to have it unlisted, and I have received a call every day for some other person from who they are trying to collect a debt!!! What's the turnaround for using a number again?

It's all screwed up, I'll say that!!!

I just don't answer the phone,,the home phone that is,,never for me anyway,,It rings and everybody else goes running,,,me ...my ass stays planted

Hell I get spam on my cell phone,,freaking voice mails left in Spanish,,pisses me off to high hell,, Unfortunetly I have to answer my cell 99% of the time so I can stay in business

If I don't know who it is, I don't answer..... kids have a code if they're calling from an unknown number.

Just dredging up an old thread. Hey, Joseph I, I work for Verizon in PA...turn around time is 6 months on re-using numbers.
