From an NRA-ILA email...

Ellwood City Council Approves Anti-Gun Amendment The Ellwood City Council approved an amendment to the City Code of Ordinances by making it unlawful for any person other than a certified law enforcement officer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or another state, or the Federal Government to possess a gun, firearm, or weapon in any Borough building, real estate, vehicle or equipment. This ordinance is a direct violation of the state preemption law enacted by the Pennsylvania State Legislature. Please call (724) 758-777 and respectfully urge Mayor Don Clyde (D) to veto this anti-gun amendment and ask the members of the Ellwood City Council to abstain from any further action.

Doesn't mean shit, a local law cannot override a state law in PA when it comes to guns, we have a unified fire arms act that is state law...stupid ass locals trying to over ride the state law...why doesn't someone tell them it is not legal and will not work since state law cannot be over turned:pissed:

Sounds worse in Jersey...

New Jersey State Police Seeking to Enact Further Firearms Restrictions by Regulation (http://www.ilaalerts.org/UM/T.asp?A1.2.2227.11.2762263) Law-abiding firearm owners have until Friday, August 17 to voice their opposition to the new rules and the New Jersey State Police Superintendent needs to hear from you today! The New Jersey State Police recently issued new rule proposals for the regulation of firearms, magazines, and retailers. If approved, these regulations will have the force of law without ever being debated by our legislators in Trenton, turning thousands of unsuspecting citizens into felons!

Doggone glad I don't live in one of these places of such enlightened and farsighted government leadership. It's sad that our 2nd Amendment Rights can be whittled away and eroded by local and state jurisdictions... who IMO have no legal standing to limit any article of the Bill of Rights or Constitution of the United States.

Pa. is one of the best states to live in for gun rights..for now anyway.
