Do you like the cowboy revolvers?

I have a ruger 45 Long Colt with the bisley grip in polished stainless steel. Its a beauty and one of my favorite guns to shoot. Its very easy to reload and you can crank up some big loads if you desire.

I see why the 45 LC was so popular back in the 1800's.

Do you have any single actions revolvers?

Well, I for another like SA revolvers. I'm in the process of
photographing a number of my newer acquisitions to my
collection(s) and I'll be posting more photos sooner than
later.

I don't have a Bisbey .45 - been seriously thinking about
picking one up for years now - probably soon now.

I do have a little sweetheart of a birdhead .38, that one of
my sons gave me last Christmas. I've only shot it twice -
never as a plinker in the field - but that may change soon as
we are going to be taking it up into the local mountains for
a day of shooting - as soon as the last snows of this last
storm have melted.

Here's my 'Birdhead .38'.

I've got SA's in 44Mag. and .357Mag. - will be looking for a
44.40 and of course at least one .45LC. My youngest has a
.45 LC that he likes to take out with the Puma 92 - as a
'combo field set.'

Actually, one of my very favorite SA shooters
is my New Model No.3 .44 Russian Schofield
(repro S&W) - they were perhaps the best target
handgun in the 1870's and 1880's. If you ever get
a chance to shoot one - give it a whirl - very nice
balance and the accuracy is excellent! I understand
that they are also chambered for .45 LC, although
I have never shot one.

Horse soldiers liked them better than their M1873 Colts
because of their speed of reloading at a full gallup! For
a while the Army had used both during the same time
frame.

All I have anymore is my Ruger Single-Six .22/.22mag. Taught all my kids with it and now the grandkids.

1977-model. :)
