I currently use Hydrashoks in the 155 grain flavor. I have come to a conclusion(whether right or wrong) that 155 grain in .40 has generally the most punch(plus the faster speed helps expansion). I would love to use gold dots, but they don't make a 155 grain do they? I only see 165 and 180:pissed:. So What are some good SD 155 grain loads that are currently available? I don't know why, but I don't want to even consider Remington Golder Sabers...( no real logical reason). So what do you .40 cal shooters use in the 155 grain flavor? Oh here...take this with you:love4::vomit1::love4:

Golden Sabers are supposed to be some good defense ammo. Granted, I have a PX4 in 9mm. But thats what I keep both mags loaded with. I use 147 grain GS's. Still a fast bullet, but heavier so it will hit with much more force than a 115 grain traveling 200 or 300 FPS faster.
I am not too hip on the .40 S&W round (yet ;)) so I cannot say whats the best 155 grainer for your PX4. However, I have read nothing but good things about Hydra Shoks as well.
The PX4 in .40 S&W holds what? 14 rounds? Shit JK, no matter what type of round/brand it is, 14 rounds of a good solid performer like the .40 S&W is more than enough to defend as needed.

14 rounds if your a softy :limp:, I bought some 17 rounders which in reality holds 16 since the springs are so tight still:2gunsfiring:

I like the lighter/faster bullets......I really like rangers, but right now i'm carrying TAP because the cases wont corode like the brass does. cdnn has rangers in 40 cal for like $13/box of 50, not sure on the grains though. wish they had some in 9mm:angry017:

I stocked-up on the Rangers for my 9's, 40's, & 45's from SCGunGuy on the Beretta Forum. There is a table in the post ( http://www.berettaforum.net/vb/showthread.php?t=15497 ) that lists the energy for every bullet. The cases are nickel-plated too. I use the 165 gr'ers in 40 for my carry round.
Be careful of other Rangers out there, especially those from CDNN. They may be called Rangers, but you don't always get the same bullet that is truly the "Ranger" projectile. Don't ask me how they do this, but they do.
SC is a person of impeccable integrity and will always do the right thing for ya. He's great to deal with.

Ya I want to buy alot of .40 from him, just gotta save up so I can make a large purchase(a case or 2). Wish they made the 155 grain for rangers. I don't even think gold dots make 155 grain. 155-165 is the range you want to be in for .40S&W SD ammo IMO.
