The site is only a few hours old now, so everything is still being setup. There will be a member pic-post, a classifieds with an auction option, chat rooms, more forums and whatever else we can come up with.

If anyone wants to see something added just speak up and we'll do what we can to get it going. :D

A concealed carry section would be good. Also a pocket pistol section would be good too. NAA and Keltec etc.

Did you guys forget about them??? We need a Ruger section!!!

Hey Kroner... I got your PM... and then Wayne sent an e-mail to me... I clicked on his link... but you had properly sent me a message from over there... (kinda crass, huh?... invitin' me here from another forum... where on earth did you leave your manners at? No, wait... I forgot... you chimps have always been a bit compulsive... and manners aren't your forte).

You can each have ½ a point for my coming here... seems appropriate.

Where is my A-V-A-T-A-R???

Where is the R-U-G-E-R Section???

You're gonna take some flak over that ommission...

Did I just overlook it having a "senior moment"?

One more question... is this forum about owners of American made guns... or is it about gun owners who live in America???

Cliff I'll add a Ruger section asap. This is a forum for Americans with guns:D, like it says if you just type the .org part, no UN members allowed and no Anti's...pro gun all the way:cool: David's the man for setting up such a great site, it will only get better as changes are made. Oh and I'm not in the contest, but thanks though.

Quite frankly, if some of you Beretta Forum members were not coming here, I would not stick around for long. I felt pming people would be better then making a thread in the lounge, less obtrusive although it would be alot faster to do that but I would need to get permission from Age,Beretta 1526/FotoTomas, maybe tomorrow but for now pming was the way to go to not get any more infractions over there:rolleyes:

LOL nope, this forum will be almost rule free, it is my opinion that if there is a speech filter...let me check...shit...we should let it filter and not give infractions for stuff like that, no 13 year old girl rule here:) Only way I will give an infraction or other admins here I think is if a personal argument get's out of hand. Spammers that post cell phone ads will be banned asap though. This will be an easy going forum don't fear the monkey, if fact if I am not picked on it won't feel right:D

Jason,

Since we've already started with Springfield 1911-A1 discussions in the 1911 section... perhaps you might want to "re-title" the Springfield section to something like "Springfield XD". Whatch think? Keep all the 1911's together in one section?

Too... this I picked up on Xavier's blog... a great place to visit too...

Xavier Thoughts - A Nurse with a Gun (http://http://xavierthoughts.blogspot.com/)

He made mention of the Springfield XD in 9mm using Beretta 92FS magazines... yeah, compatible fitting. I've sent him a PM on another forum but am waiting to hear back for clarification. If that's the case, then I know what my first "tupperware" gun will be!!!

BTW, go check his blog out and read the posting about "Rule Four"... it's sobering to say the least... a tragedy in Oklahoma... I highly recommend it for all to read.

I am not sure about making springfield just an xd section I will leave that up to David. I would hope the 1911 section would account for all 1911 discussions, including springfield. Will read that info thanks.

Everything is open for tweaking. I just added a lot of categories setting the script up. It doesn't matter to me really. :)

Hi David & Kroner...

Yeah, I appreciate the reply and you looking into my suggestion. IMO, if Springfield 1911A1 pistols are discussed in both places, well it isn't a bad thing, but it does develop some loss of continuity... but then again, you've got a Colt section too, so perhaps it's all okay the way it is now regardless... :D

Jason, after you read Xavier's posting of "Rule Four"... well, you're gonna come away with some definite thoughts and feelings. Enuf said... let me know what you think... but needless to say, that is one of my first concerns when I'm out shooting (not including target ranges). Unfortunately, bullets tend to travel a lot further than we are able to see... :(

Cliff I just changed the Springfield section to XD and now your saying...:D LOL let me know what is better since they only make xd handguns besides 1911's I see why you said that to begin with...up to you guys it just looks more streamlined having it say Springfield but then again I know people would post 1911 stuff in there maybe it is the better way to go not sure at the moment...

Cliff731
08-07-2007, 12:11 AM
Oops... I see you've changed the Springfield section title... I'm rarely so persuasive here lately... ;)

Perhaps we could do Colt as "Colt DA & SA Revolvers"...

And then change the 1911 section title to something like this- "1911A1 - All Brands Go Here".

Whatcha think???

One of the "problems" (if it's really a problem) is that so many "brands" and manufacturers are out there making this design. Simply keeping up with the number of 'em is mind blowin'. Even a dedicated 1911 forum like M1911(dot)org forum has difficulty doing so.

Probably no other semi-auto handgun in history has been so "copied"... perhaps the CZ is running a second place if you count all it's imitators... Sphinx, Tangfolio, and even Armalite as of late with others not named. Of course, the Browning Hi-Power has some well known imitators too.

LOL dc4e welcome, Cliff I think Colt Revolvers is good right? It incorporates all Colt Revolvers without saying SA/DA.

Well... yeah... I suppose it does... I just kinda liked the way "DA/SA" looked... :p

In the end, you'll probably see folks posting about SA 1911's in the Springfield section... ditto Colt 1911's in the Colt section... without noticing a specific "1911A1" place... guess that will happen.

I've spent time over on the M1911(dot)org forum... and they have it super organized regarding categories... it becomes difficult there to sometimes know where to put a thread. Problem is you can get "zapped" with a warning for improperly placing such. The "grammer" police there could write a book on "how to" enforce politeness in language rules... actually, it's their computer filter at work. Speaking of language, I ain't seen those rules we have here yet... where are they posted? Granted, there probably has to be some boundaries, but I hope a bit of flexibility is in order. Using something like "S#@T" (with those substitutive symbols rather than typing the word) to denote popular slang shouldn't get one slammed... or using the word "Hell"... or "H#*L", replacing letters again. Still, there are some limits that must be observed by the members here to promote an atmosphere of mutual communication where one's children might be coming to visit. That I discounted until on that other forum one night and one of the moderator's/mentor's young 11 year old daughter was posting! See... that's what I'm talking about. My kids are grown and I'm happily spending their inheritance... so otherwise I could care less if my language offends... hell (oops... I did it again), in the work environment I've spent time in the past few years (ask Unclviny over on the Beretta forum) it's quite likely one of the last bastions of "macho" uninhibited "American maleness" remaining where you can be as politically incorrect with language as desired. Sadly, there it is starting to change as "wimmen" are infiltrating our ranks.

Geezzzz... I'm rambling on here and have got quite hungry... there might be a frozen pizza in my fridge... I'll be back later!!!

jkroner659
08-07-2007, 12:54 AM
I personally don't care about language, there is no filters in play yet. Almost any word can be posted here but the thing that will kick me into action is when someone just posts those words for no reason other than just cursing. But the occasional shit or dare I say it...fuck...will be allowed and no infraction given unless it is purposefully just spouting out curse words to piss us off. My position is if a kid is on the internet anyway, he/she will see those words anyway.

Plus let's not lie to ourselves, when we were that young we knew them all:D. And I understand some young kids might be interested in guns because their parents brought them up in a gun friendly home...but that should not stop us from talking the way we Americans really talk;). Anything too outrageous will be edited to make it a little softer sounding. Like I said though if someone is just spouting out curse words for the hell of it, they will be dealt with properly and their post edited/deleted.

Thanks for setting this up, David, and JK.

I hate to be obnoxious, but I feel an urge to remind everyone that the U.N. was the United States' idea!

D'oh!

NATO still works pretty well though!

Cliff731
08-07-2007, 07:08 AM
Knotwise, I don't know if that U.N. idea was exactly "all" our deal... but even if so, back in the time when it was established, post WWII, I suspect strongly that the selling motivation was to provide a safe forum for member countries to air grievances and such... and ask other member countries for aid in emergencies.

Little did we know... it would become a venue for the promotion of globalism and a "One World Order" government.

A few "factoids" about the U.N.'s Secretariat Building... with my comments added in red...

- The UN Headquarters site is officially international territory, not part of the United States - making New York the only state with a hole in it.

Perhaps the State Of New York should reclaim their lost territory... as part of a truly sovereign United States...

- Featured in the movie "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" (directed by Blake Edwards, 1976).

The place has always been a scene of "fantasy"...

- Built for an important international organization, this modern complex helped revitalize New York City at the end of the second world war.

I wasn't aware that New York City was in such dire straits following WWII...

- The 18-acre site was donated to the United Nations by John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

There you go... some very big money behind it all...

- An extensive renovation is planned in the near future that could take up to ten years, temporarily displacing the employees to a new headquarters building to be built in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens.

I've a better idea... let's "displace" this bunch of "internationalist" to another continent- permanently!!!

I found this one on the web... and perhaps here's a good use for the ole place...

problem(s) with rifles and shotgun section. there is no semi-auto section, and how about a section for the .22 cal plinkers.......also where would a single shot or double barrel shotgun discussion go?????all i see is auto or pump.............not trying to complain just some observations.

Sleepy those are just sub forums, anything else goes in the main section below it. Auto and Pumps are the most common so those deserve their own sub forum correct? Don't worry I was tired last night and learning new stuff..won't happen again:D

I have a folder full of them and just uploaded the whole thing. Some of them may be a little, ummm, well, not for the overly sensitive. :D

If you guys have others you want added, just link to them or send them to me and I'll install them.

Google doesn't automatically list sites. They list and rank based on a number of things like site popularity, number of sites that link back to the site listed, keywords, etc... So a 1 and half days old site won't really be seen so soon unless I want to pay them for it and that's costly.
