car trouble

Had one of my camrys break down last monday morning. parked it sunday nigh and it was running fine, monday morning it wouldn't start for the wife. cranking over, not getting spark.

went and bought a cap& rotor along with the repair manual. Replaced cap & rotor, no help.

Had to go buy a multi-meter traced it down to low resistance on the ignition coil.
I don't even understand "resistance" but it was out of spec so I
replaced it and its back up and running, $100 later of coarse..

Wow, even the unstoppable force of a Toyota has a chink (no racial slur implied) in it's armour. Well, if your car is old enough to have a cap and rotor, I imagine that you have gotten your money out of it without much in the way of maintanence. Glad to hear that it is down the road burning gas again.

Ohms Law - Ohm's Law defines the relationships between (P) power, (E) voltage, (I) current, and (R) resistance. One ohm is the resistance value through which one volt will maintain a current of one ampere.

yep i got two of em a 92 and a 95....this was on the 92...got it for free(got to love grandparents) and just recently bought the 95 for cheap(best friend is a car dealer).

Thats the first trouble i've had with it since i got it about 25k ago, so i guess i shouldn't complain.

The timing of these car repairs sucks, its like they wait untill it gets cold right when you are trying to save some $$$ for x-mas.
