One of my main bitches is the news. Can these assholes NOT shove their opinions down our necks?

I'm watching a rebroadcast of the nightly news and as usual there was an armed robbery, 2 actually, but something stood out for this one. The goon paid big dollars to sit and read the news to us said a pizza joint was robbed, but he had to say "with a semi-automatic handgun". Why not just a gun? Is robbing a place with semi-auto worse than a revolver?

Just sounds like they are trying to demonize semi-autos.

A complaint I have is they rarely cover credible ufo cases, usually they refer to some crackpot that say's he went aboard a ship and had a romantic love affair with a mistress from Venus:bs:. This has changed a little lately, seems to be getting a little more spot light but no where near the attention it should be getting.(where in the hell did the tin foil hat wearing smiley go?? Just because I think it's funny...here ya go instead:limp::D:limp:)

It is just so hard to find a source of news that isn't spun up like a top. MSNBC is the left of the left, and Fox News is Right of the right, who can you believe anymore?
I may be sounding like some old geezer, but remember when the news was reported as news, not as an agenda?
The only thing that I have found is to saturate myself in all sides all sources (major networks, foreign press, internet, etc.) and try to figure it out for myself. That is tough to do without first hand knowledge of the stories, not to mention how frustrated and angry I get. I would probably be much better off just burying my head in the sand, but that goes against my personality big time.
Vent complete, I feel much better now.
thanks.

Of course they are, David... and I'm surprised he didn't add the gun had "high capacity magazines filled with cop killer bullets, capable of spraying a lethal spread of fire on the victims"... and of course, "these are the magazines that were illegal until the assault weapons ban was allowed to expire..." :2gunsfiring:

That ought to do it, huh?
