I've been thinking of picking up a G36. Any of you guys have one or fired one? I'm kind of concerned about the subcompact and .45 being a bitch to shoot.

if ya must go glock and want Subcompact , id go with the .40 or 9MM.
9MM probably being the best , with the 124gr hollow point i hear good things

Did he say what it was he didn't like when he shot it? Too much kick?
I was also looking at the G26. I'm not a fan of the .40 round so I'd go with either the 45 or 9mm.

what kind of girls are you? does your mom still hold your hand when you cross the street?
jeez.. I had a G36 and while it is the most controversial Glock, it is a great gun. There is no finer CC .45 out there. I love the single stack grip, feels very similiar to a 1911. My wife CC a G36 for years until she fell into the cult of 1911. Due to the thinner grip, it shoots easier than the G30.
Get it. My friend that is whatching me write this, who is an active SWAT guy, just whipped out his 36 and admired it :)

I see... I may give it a try. I'm looking for something small and light weight with power.

I love 1911s as much as the next guy but I have HEARD that 1911s in anything less than their full 5" barell leads to many issues

I think the EMP's had issues when they were first released, but have since been corrected. Other than that I've never heard of issues with any other compact 1911.
you can pick up the 45 gap ones cheap, and if your not going to over feed it, it shouldnt be to bad. I been thinking about the fullsize one and cutting the grip to a medium one. Midsize gun with 45 acp POWER!!!!!!! got to love it. Also I held a 36, yes its single stack, but NO it not slim, small, or what ever. The 45 acp Glock guns are just a size bigger, thats why I say the 45 gap, 45 power in a 9mm size grip, got to love it.
what ever one youll get youll use the snoot out of it for sure.

just remember you can buy a Glock 9mm, 40 and a 45 for the price of 1 EMP, dont get me wrong, I love the EMP, but a tool thats reliable is just as good.

Ok Dash, as a G36 owner I might as well tell you the truth about it. Its just plain awful. Cuz I had one failure to eject out of 2000 rounds thru mine. Horrible to have such an unreliable weapon. It really sucks to have to carry a slowpoke caliber like a .45. Even worse my G36 isn't a picky eater. In fact its a greedy lil beast digesting all I feed it & begging for more. Disgusting I know. I even took my Concealed Carry Class with it & much to my disgrace, I shot the best out of a class of about 20. Sure it'll fit in any G19 holster that doesn't have retaining straps but a Good Gun would have its own exact holsters just for it. Worse yet, at 25-30 feet, 2 whole rounds won't make it in the 9 ring or better like the other 48 rounds so its awfully inaccurate. Never mind that with my Pearce +1 Grip extension I end up with 8 rounds of .45acp ready to go, 7 in the mag & 1 in the pipe.
P.S. for those lacking in sarcastic ability, I was being sarcastic :naaa:
