I absolutely hate paying $50 to ship a handgun.....
On the less expensive handguns it kills a good deal in a hurry....
How do you guys get around paying this much??? I see people (non ffls???) that ship guns for $20-30 all the time....how do they do this???
I have thought about shipping ups "ground" and insuring the package, and if they ask i could tell them it is "machined parts" or something......
from what i understand this would only be breaking a ups policy, not any actual laws....If i sent it usps i would be though....
any help would be appreciated(pm if you don't want "advice" puplic).....
going through a local ffl will cost me just as much as shipping myself as they all want to charge a fee($25-$40) plus the shipping($15-35)....
Where is the NRA on this issue?????Fuck!!

The key is finding an FFL that will do it for a reasonable price. My cousin has a guy that will do it for real cheap, but every FFL I try to go through they want to gouge the price too.
Even selling locally through them they want that same $50
I wonder if there's an added charge from UPS or FedEx for shipping guns? I've never asked about that, but if not there's no reason for that kind of money. Pure greed is all I can think of. I shipped a guitar made of mahogany by FedEx from Memphis to California and it only cost me $17 with $1500 insurance.

I hate my local ffl dealer when it comes to shipping and recieving....ageranger has an ffl that will recieve a gun for $5.......the best price i can find to recieve around here is $25.
I got so pissed at my local (favorite) gun shop today.....
I took in my taurus tracker to see what they would pay for it...didn't even want cash, just store credit(so i could get the 950b)
They asked "what are you lookin' to get for it?" what ? is that....I told them "150ish store credit......, maybe for the beretta 950"
which was marked for $150
they took it to the back, and 10 minutes later came out and said"...most we can go is $100....."
fuck that, this thing is perfect condition, and sells for $300 half a mile up the street new.....
for $100 i would rather use it to "practice" gunsmithing on:laugh:
now i understand that they want to make a profit, thats why i wanted to trade for the 950(they probably gave some poor guy $50 for it when he was down on his luck)
Not to mension that i spend a SHIT LOAD of money there on pistols, ammo, and targets, and grips, and mags.......and.......
were talking 2-3 grand in the last year.....
I know if they put it on the shelf for $200-220 it would be sold within a week.
I might just go back in there and buy the little beretta .25, and after i purchase tell them what i think about it all and also let them know that i WONT be comming back, and will be taking my business up to Gander mountain....
wow i must really be pissed, thats alot of typing for me:happy:

Maybe i should just sell off a few guns to pay for my FFL license, and do transfers for $15 a pop, and ship handguns for like $25, put some big decals on my car for advertising "$15 FFL transfers call (231)555-5656", throw some ads in the local newspapers, and just plain take as many of transfers as i can.......

I heard it's hard to get an FFL and that you must have a store front and be willing to jump through hoop after hoop.

you can do it out of your home, but you must have "business hours"...all the atf wants is your money
and you open up your house to be searched any time day/night...
