or have you used any of the .22 conversion kits for a 1911?
coments/opinions on those you have experience with
thinking that plinking with the same frame/weight with cheaper ammo wouldnt be such a bad idea

I've never tried one, but I would think it all depends on the reason you want one. Just for the fun of shooting or defensive practice?
I believe in training with what you carry so I wouldn't use it for training purposes myself. But just for the fun of shooting, sure, but then I'd probably just get a whole new .22 to play with instead of a conversion kit.

bit of both dash, have a smith 122a that is great for plinking as well as target match
mainly for training and being able to use it a bit more plinking, snake duty etc using the 1911 platform
the mak wasnt a problem since the 9x18 is still fairly decent price getting old surplus, but till i get some dies and cases for 45 it would kill me trying to feed this all the time
