About 4 weeks ago or so I adopted a puppy from the humane society. She's cute and seems to be pretty damned smart for such a young pup.

Well, since the day we brought her home she had the runs, real bad. It's hard to believe a puppy could hold that much. So I started scheduling her feedings to early morning and late afternoon all she wanted, but cut her off after that and kept her outside a lot and for a couple of hours before bedtime... No help at all.

I called the humane society as they have a vet there and really felt they should look at her since she was aparently sick when I got her... Nope. They said it could be the new home or a change of food doing it... Piss off in other words.

So a coulple of weeks passed and it wasn't getting any better so I called my vet. He told me to feed her dog food and lay off the puppy chow and see if that helped... Nope!

So a couple of days ago I started noticing my big baby Rottweiler was acting all funky and just happened to notice her outside and she had the runs too... Uh oh! Definitely don't want that in the house! So I made sure she wasn't getting into the puppy food too...

Today, the puppy REALLY made a mess so off to the vet I go with her. Something has to be terribly wrong... Yup! Turns out she has some sort of parasite that likely got to my other dogs. So now I have to load all 3 critters up with meds 2 times a day.

The joy!

Thats sucks, but at least the problem is found and is now addressed. I bet some employees at the humane society knew exactly what the problem was...I'm sure many dogs spread it around there.

Yeah, I had a feeling it had something do with the kennel. I'm pretty sure a lot of those dogs up there has it.

I'm calling them tommorw about it just to let them know... It could probably be deadly if not treated.

It's a shame to think that there would be someone at the Humane Society that knew of this and didn't do anything to treat her. But on the bright side, she is being treated now :D
