To shoot my new Kimber......

This gun is awesome! I was a little concerned at the get-go, ‘cause when I took it apart for the initial clean, I found the slide release to be very tight - was a real struggle to push it down. I was worried I’d get to the range, and after every magazine I’d have to ask Rich to push the slide release!! How embarrassing! :o Also, I’d read a few things on the 1911 forum about the first 500 rounds being a little rough, and to expect FTE and FTF’s.

Well, my experience was anything but problematic. It was smooth sailing and an absolute pleasure to shoot. I put a total of 100 rounds through her, and every single one was perfect. She was accurate out the box, trigger was super smooth, albeit a little hard to get used to as the edges are really sharp. My finger did start to hurt after 50 rounds, but I’m sure I’ll get used to this little annoyance.

All in all I’m extremely pleased and can’t wait to get out there again.

Very cool ,just make sure you run your carry ammo threw it before you carry

Thanks Matt! Yes, I don't intend to carry it just yet. I want to at least get to the break-in point, and then try it with the hollow points. My CZ will continue to be my go-to firearm until that point.

Excellent! I'm glad you like it. I had a feeling you would. They are great guns a fun to shoot.

The 500 round thing though I think may be a little misleading. Of the 6 1911's I've owned only one had any issues at all and it wasn't due to a break in period.
