...and needless to say I have mixed opinions. I used Fords Refinishing and used there rail removal process on my beretta vertecs, needless to say theres good and bad.
First the bad, The one they did on the taurus pt945 used for advertisement came out better than mine. second I had one anodized black, and theres a scratch on the frame and theres a area where they did the removal that the black is thin and not the best in my opinion. They told me this was there first first attempt with a beretta and were gun shy on the job, but I had confidence that if they could do it on a taurus, they could do the same on the beretta. I think I would give them another chance, because they could do a better job with a little critiquing.
Now the good, I had them hard chrome the frame and I will for sure have another one done, the hardchrome silver is millions times better than the beretta silver color, and now looking at the silver compared to the HC, theres no comparison. Well the rail removal wasnt the best but for sure good enough to carry and thats the reason I sent them.
Ill see if i can get TC to help me post some picks, but the wait was a let down to me. Ill contact them and talk to them(since its a family business) and see if they would like another try, I just dont think this was there best work, and Ive seen and heard that they can do many times better.

I've had mixed results with gun smiths and also with some refinsihing companies. My expectations are never that high - and now I kinda just make due after beings crewed so many times.

overall the work is good, what I dont like is the bottom not being even, where the derailing ends is not straight, I guess thats the hardest part. It seems that both are opposite, each has a side that needed a little more. The part where I said the anodizing was thin is the bottom of the railed black area, I tried my best to get a pic but it didnt come out, its just thinner there and you can see some grain from the sanding, I think if they sanded it once more with a real finer grain that would be corrected, as for the scratch, well the pics speak for them selves.
Bottom line I would recommend the hard chroming, but not the anodizing, in the future Id use the NP3 or CR coating, looks better but I dont have a example in person to compare it to just my observation. as for the rail removal, Id give them a second chance for sure, I think with a little conversation about what I didnt like and practice(practice makes perfect) I believe they can do it to my standards. As for what I got???? 50.00 is 50.00 and thats not a bad job considering, it will work and Im sure the bad guy wont say anything LOL, Ill get back with a range report.
For the record I wish all my silver frame guns were hard chromed :rockin: one thing else i learned is that hard chrome and stainless steel slides dont match perfect, if you want it to match send both to be done, I had wanted to put an all stainless slide on, like a ghost model, but I didnt like the look after, so I two toned it, what you all think pretty good or bad??? Am I being to critical??

I think they look good,,would I have done that to my Vertecs ?,,,no.. carry a Fs instead of chopping the rail off the Vertec

Dont want to go from grip to grip, If a I could get used to a regular frame, I could get used to a Glock, and that was the only reason I got rid of the Glock. For the record A P2000 with 12 40 cals in the grip is smaller than a type M beretta, so thats the reason the type M got cut. Loved the M, But all my guns are working guns, no safe queens.

when I look at both each has some thing I love, I love the centurion look, and I love the SILVER frame two tone, for the record they handle real nice especially the centurion, but a range report is in order, dosnt matter what it looks like if they dont shoot, Glock can relate to that statement.LOL :toofunny:

Looks ok I guess, it's my first time seeing a derailed gun. It would be much better if they started to smooth the curve out at the very top of the rail, but I guess it would be impossible to make it like a fs frame...

yes, thats the way I would want it, but that gives a big opportunity to mess up and be to thin, I looked and a think they sliced the bottom off, and rounded the edges by hand. I would have preferred it that way JK, but stronger is better than looks, and it looks strong. I think it will be ok, but a little of a let down. I looked again and have concluded if it was a sig with a square slide it look MUCH better like the taurus PT they used, the open barrel round design would look better like a regular frame. But it was built for carry, so Ill try it out and see. Remember I have 6 regular vertecs left, Ill survive.
