Seems like my company has screwed the pooch too much. I told you guys that we barely take American prisoners yet alone Iraqi's...that means if they aren't going to work in Iraq they'll now flood Afghanistan. A few bad apples truly fucked the batch.

Iraq may be bad but Afghanistan is worse. You're in a tent somewhere outside a FOB near the Khyber Pass...no electricity, no running water and a goat shit-shithouse and miscellaneous folks pinging at you with AK's, Lee-Enfields, SVD's and RPG's. It's kinda like fighting in the Rockies. The weather is unbearable too. It's extremely hot or extremely cold...both of them were so bad, I don't know which is worse. Plus the high altitude...cuts down on my cigarette smoking.
It was real, it was fun but it definetely not real fun.
I think I'll look around for another company to work with but I will admit that the market will be flooded so I may not be able to do it in Iraq. Other than that, I could always take a 70k job a year in Kuwait or Kosovo but what's the point for only 70k?
I'd prefer somewhere with some utilities...I also go too Iraq for the chicks too. Those gals just love us...yummy! Afghani women are unheard of...besides you can't see them. They are like the hillbilly, back assed neighbors of the Muslim world. They still believe in Witch Doctors and clitorectomies....yuck!
yea, I just saw on CNN

Don't worry, if you go to another mans country and pick up a gun you better be prepared to fight, you would lose in the long term anyway. How can you not be a cop because of an injury but you can go to Iraq and fight??? Why don't you go back into LE?

Since I'm a 50% service connected disabled Veteran, I'm considered a liability if I take a good shot in the back. Cities are protecting their assets and your tax monies by not hiring me.
When my back blew out two discs, it took nearly a year before I could do anything. First thing they did was to rotate me out of active service and into the lost world of professional standards and training. They are worried that if I were on the street or walking back to the shooting line with a case of ammunition and I hurt myself again...well, I'd be on the Cities tab. Milking the worker's compensation and disability until I die.
So it behooves them not to hire me and I don't want to rot in a small office for the rest of my days. I'm already vested. I wanted to play the Hemingway Code Hero once more. So, I'm good enough to fight and die in a war overseas but not good enough to direct traffic or serve in the department. Besides, I had grave doubts if I could take that cynicism again. The Police work was getting too me. It was driving me insane. Not to sound so ogerish but I'd rather just shoot the fucker and drive on with the mission now rather than doing paperwork. Of course this is what Blackwater got in trouble for in the first place.
They always had a high speed reputation but all things must come to an end. They finally shot up some folks they shouldn't have and someone caught them. Honestly, they should be held responsible for innocent killings. A life is a life be it American, Allied or Iraqi. No one should get gunned down for nothing. Hey, it was a real war then. Everyone was game. I've got a souvenier piece of shrapnel here at home. Now it's different. We're in the "Iraqi-minzation" phase. Any of the contractors out there must remember that we are logistics support for our military...not military anymore but only logistics. Blackwater took the Hunter/Killer logistics along with Dyncorps, Triple Canopy, Aegis and MPRI. I do miss the smell of cordite but on the other hand, it'll be nice too see those young soldiers go home to their families.
On a personal note...after the ex Wife miscarried, I just threw myself into work and then that one morning my back blew out and after the diagnosis...well, that was the one that broke the She-Devils back. She hauled her shit outta the house and I got divorce papers a month later. I signed them ending our ten year financing agreement. That was a big load off of my back...she was a great looking Broad but I'll trade in my '73 for a '84 anyday...besides I can always have the option of leasing out the entire lot at the moment with a conditional option to buy. Which I won't. Why pay for the gas when they will for free?
A few months from now or a year or two ahead. Guys like me will still be there...standing in the wind, rifles muzzle down and safety on, hearing the sand ping off our 5.11's, helping the Iraqi and Arab peoples grow into a strong independent countries that will meld within the cultures of the 21st Century. As a long departed friend told me a few years ago..live large and die well. Do it before you get too old. Live Large.
I guess I'll apply with Dyncorp or MPRI out there I'm sure I'll go before Thanksgiving, that is if I get cleared off of this antibiotic they got me on...I got exposed too TB in New Orleans and have been on this crap for the past 9 months.
