Unprepared for war.... (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/12/01/2008-12-01_president_bushs_biggest_regret_i_was_unp.html)
I thought it was a pretty gutsy thing to say, especially considering his approval rating.
Another thing I found really interesting was the other articles listed on the right of that link. One titled: Lamest duck ever? and features goofy pics of President Bush, and the others titled: He's just like us... sorta, and Cover Model, which features goofy pics of Obama. Isn't it strange how being a regular person subject to moments of whackiness is okay for democrats, but not republicans..................
But then, what more can one expect from the uber-liberal Daily News!

Some of the most ridiculous, dumbass statements I've ever heard from anyone ever has come from the filthy sewer of Obama... And he's not even in office yet!
Speaking of not being in office yet, have you seen him on the news lately? Evey day he's giving some sort of speech standing at a podium with a sign that reads "Office Of The President Elect"...

I know I'm in the minority - and my hubby always rolls his eyes when I say this - but the fact that he is so wacky and "regular", is one of the things I really liked about Bush. He wasn't all about looking slick and playing the role, he just seemed to be himself, no matter what his office.
Now whether that is "presidential" or not is open for debate, but for my part, it made him seem more human to me, and allowed me to easier forgive his weaknesses. And yes - that is a very womanly thing to say............ ;)
I also have an amazing amount of admiration for Laura Bush. She is a true lady in every sense of the word, and very supportive of her husband. I have to think that there must be something good about GW if she has found something in him that has endured all these years.

Bush is misunderstood in a lot of ways I think. Like the way he uses or makes up some words. People make fun of it and call him dumb because of it, but I think he does that to be funny and people just have their heads too far up their own asses to see the humor in it. Maybe it's a Texas thing, I do that too...
Presidential? Probably not, but you're right he's being himself.
He did a lot of bad stuff that restricts American freedoms with the patriot act and all of that garbage, but he did a lot of good too. People can bitch if they want about this war, but I personally find the world a better a place without Saddam and his 2 sons.

Bush is a bad speaker(no doubt about that), but that does not make him dumb. That said, I think his approval ratings are deserved.

Yeah, we'll see who takes the blame when Obama fucks this country dry. I can guarantee he won't!

You know what the sad thing about him is? His presidency will forever be defined by 9/11 and his actions thereafter. If he'd ignored the intel about the supposed WMD, and the threat of terrorism, people would've been screaming about him not doing enough to protect the US and it's people. If he did what he and his advisors thought was the right thing to do, people are screaming about getting us into an unwanted war. Unfortunately I think it's been a situation where you're damned if you do, damned if you don't!
And I also think the world is better off without Saddam and his putrid offspring..........

In my opinion, the President no matter who it is does not have the luxury of being just like us. The office is to big and to important for a regular person. I consider myself a regular person and I could never be the president. I would not understand half of what is going on around me. Bush is not a dumb person but he is hard headed. He did the right things for the wrong reasons. He did some wrong things also. Iraq is one of those things that he did wrong. The world is a better place without Saddam but the USA did not need that burden. We could of turned Afghanistan into the center of the middle east but Bush wanted Saddam. Now we have two countries full of terrorists and a political nightmare. Iraq also divided the American people in to two groups and those two groups are at war but instead of using guns we are using laws and courts to fight our battles. We are losing freedoms and jobs and our houses and cars. It is all connected. Ronald Regan would of never let all this happen. We sure could of used him the last eight years. I am done ranting.

Regan... Man, what a great President he was, huh? We definitely could use another just like him.

No you're not. I liked how no matter what he said, or how stupid it sounded (and he knew when he said something stupid), he never lost his bearing.
If he'd ignored the intel about the supposed WMD
Ya know I am sure some will say I am beating a dead horse. But I would bet ya a dollar that more will come out in the years after Obama gets out of the white house that will vindicate him some what.
Call it an educated hunch.
