I thought I would take a look at the chat room section just to see how it was set up. I got some lines of text showing things were loading and got to a nice looking blue background screen and that was it.

My browser showed it was loading information from the forum site but never did ever finish loading the chat rooms up. Not sure what was wrong but thought you would want to know.

Ok, I'll see what the dealio is with it... I may have screwed something up when I axed the dirty word filter...

It seems fine for me and a few others so it could be anything... I'll fix it or find a different script to use.

Have you thought about using the shoutbox? That way you dont have to load software to run it. It just stays on top of the main index page. Its instant chat.

I'm honestly not a fan of free stuff such as email, hosting, etc... The reason being with free stuff like that you're bound to their TOS (Terms of Service) and their advertising.

I did have a look at the shoutbox site and they said something about fade in advertising. So I'd rather install a paid script that doesn't advertise or redirect in any way. I'd hate to use something and one of their ads cause problems like adware or something.

I've found a couple other programs and I'll see what they're all about. We'll have an operational chatroom going within the next couple of days. :)

vBShout 2.1 AJAX Shoutbox for vBulletin is the version on another forum that I admin on. It has no ads, no links to ads, no nothing. Its just an empty box to type in so everyone can see it. It sits right on top the main index page. It works really well, just like instant messaging works.

I didnt install it, I just help with new members that are usually spammers on that forum.
