o.k i'll admit it, i don't know much about politics. I have no idea who i should vote for. I want to be educated, but it seems like politicians change their stories like underwear. Whats a gun owner to do? Whats a working class voter supposed to do? i need help cutting through all the :bsflag:

I just look for genuineness and look at what they support. If they support gun control I automatically know they have done no research in this area because if they did they would realize that they are just restricting the law abiding citizen of guns instead of law breaking criminals. Plus they are trying to abolish the 2nd amendment which is anti American if you ask me. Most people have certain issues that they care about above all else where they then rank their options. Gun Control is big for me since I just got started and don't want pointless restrictions.
Another interest of mine has not been discussed in politics since Jimmy Carter promised to open the governments books on ufo's, he failed since there is certain information which the president himself cannot release, so that topic is dead basically in politics. Just look for issues that mean something to you and try to see if the person is truthful or not, Hillary is a sneaky "smart" woman who will lie and jump through hoops to get where she wants to get. Honesty is kinda big for me, even though If I was Bill Clinton, I would have lied about the side action he was getting...after all they are still human and sex is, I'll just say I did not look down on him for that as much as others people, I understand:Peace!:
PS: Try not to let political parties get in your way, you don't have to pick one. I am against the 2 party system I can't stand the political games and shots at one another's opposing party. Politics then becomes a game of gang warfare and they forget they are all Americans IMO.

I'm a Reaganite. I have always believed in the Republican party but that's my own personal choice.
BUT...
In the past 30 years or so, there are more and more anti-gun Democrats in elected positions.
Not that I love "W's" work so far but it seems to me that if a Democrat gets into the White House, law abiding gun owners will have to fight for the right to keep them. There is another Anti-Assault Weapons Bill being looked at right now. If elected, I'm sure a Democratic Party President would lean towards anti-gun legislation and all of the Democrats in House and Senate will follow the lead and introduce more anti-gun legislation. Like the '94 to'04 bill? All parts and weapons just went up in price. If a Assault Weapons ban goes through, more than half of my weapons will have to be buried somewhere. Besides a true Assault Weapon has an option of semi or auto fire. Mine are all semi's. I'm willing to bet that Democratic leadership will drive up costs even more and will be harder to get. All the suppressors I own will then be confiscated by the ATF even with my Class III licenses. Just look up the FBI Bureau of Statistics that only 5% of all firearm related killings are by "assault weapons". Did you ever hear of a drive by bayonetting?
So, in my humble opinion. If you still want to keep and buy firearms. You may want to vote in a Republican for office. Beside the fact that all the Democratic Party candidates seem to be inexperienced.

There is one Democrat running for President that supports the 2nd amend. I can't remember his name now, but he's likely to disappear from the race anyway.
The main ones to avoid like the plague are Clinton, Osama, Edwards and Biden... Biden being the author of the 94 ban and will gladly and without much time wasted sign McCarthy's ridiculous ban bill.
On the Republican side it's not that much better right now. Guiliani is an anti-gunner from New York and a piece of shit glory whore. McCain is considered dangerous to gun owners and frankly I don't trust the man.
Ron Paul is an American for America with American values and interest in mind. Sadly though, the media is not being fair to him and has been left out of some debates.
I have my eye on Fred Thompson. I have read some discouraging articles about him, but that could have been bullshit to benefit a 3rd party.
Speaking of 3rd party, there's also that piece of shit Michael Bloomberg, also from New York, threatening to buy the white house with part of his $5 billion fortune. Not only should this anti-American liar not be voted for his threat of even running should be firmly protested.
Do your research before deciding on who to vote for. It just makes sense to know who the person is. Find out what they voted for and against and that will point in the direction if they represent your interests or not.
Have you ever wondered why it takes so long at the polls? That is mainly due to most of the people not know who and what to vote for or against.
Most of the bills and regulations included in the polls you really should already know what that's about and how to vote on it. Odds are you won't understand the way they have it written anyway when you get there.
I always hear people say, "wow! That was fast!" when I go to the polls. Last election this guy made the comment of me doing it too fast and I must not have read the ballots, implying I was just randomly selecting shit.. My reply was I did my homework before I went and there's also sample ballots to read while in line. So, I know who and what I'm voting for and why before I ever get there. So it shouldn't take half an hour to do it.
Politics is a nasty beast filled with liars and theives that almost always has something to gain by being in office and in the end you have to pick the lesser of the 2 evils.
One reason I like Fred Thompson is he's not a politician and doesn't like Washington. He speaks his mind and doesn't bullshit. He, like Reagan, I believe can take a broken system, make it work and lead us through 2 terms that will benefit the people.
There's not a leading democrat running that doesn't have self serving interests in mind and it's their interests, not the peoples, they're looking out for.

A Thompson...Condie Rice ticket would be hard to beat. McCain already had his shot and in the past eight years he's shown his true colors.
I had hopes that General Powell would come out but I don't think he will but we'll just have to vote the best we can and vote for the least offensive candidate.
C'mon David...lets you and I run for the Republican ticket.

Let's do it... Campaign contributions are now welcome. :D
We need a campaign slogan though. Something like, "Cleaner air for America... Make Hilary shut her mouth."

I would love to see Ron Paul have Thompson as his vice pres. It would be a great thing for this country, but we all know it won't happen because it would make too much sense. Sadly I truly believe Hitlery will take it:vomit1:
Here is Hitlery Clintons campaign slogan below...

"A minimum of ten guns in the house and a 20 year old slut in every kitchen! And Gun Control means being able to hit your target!"
It's simplistic and attention getting.

While I am not a republican I am all for Paul & Thompson. Both men are very much like myself in their views not only on guns, but about the obesity of goverment and government spending. Both are pro smaller/better government that works for the people instead of the people working for the government.
Sad thing is that I have to agree, that while this ticket would be the best to go for, I can see that the chances of it happening are next to 0%. And that's the big shame of it all.

Mostly Kpirece, the reason why we wont see a awesome ticket like that is because like back in high school...there was aways a mainstream(jocks/hot girls) and then there were independent thinkers. The independent thinkers are out numbered by the "mainstream" and so the mainstream only see's what the media tells them(sheep). So I would bet my left and right nut that either hillary or obama will take the white house. All I know is America needs a big change, and like yourself I am not a dem or repub, I refuse to become part of a "team" of politics, America would be better off if people thought for themselves instead of just voting all dem or all repub because that's what they did in HS, followed the crowd. I like Ron Paul not because he is a republican( I hate Bush, but I don't think all republicans think like he does) but because he knows whats wrong with America. He has been a congressman for 20 years, he is pro gun and anti government. He has a box on his desk(full of papers of some kind) and on the front of the box, it says: Don't steal, the government hates competition.
That's that kind of man we need at this point in time when the government is trying to infringe upon our rights and their excuse is 9/11. which is a load of :bs:, Americans better not let our government take away our freedoms in the name of security. Ron Paul also knows that the Federal Reserve who makes the money for America should be abolished and our government should make our money so we don't have to pay the major banks(Federal Reserve) interest every year. Every dollar, 100% of the money from every Americans Federal Income tax goes to these banks(Federal Reserve which is not Federal at all) for interest that our government pays them since they loan our own government the money. Isent that fucking absurd? Our government has the power to make our money but in 1913 they passed the Federal Reserve Act and ever since then the bankers(Greenspan and other federal reserve members) have been running our policies, not our presidents.
Ron Paul is the only candidate that I know of who knows this, not many Americans know about this, if they would...a revolution would have seriously in all probability already happened(I'm not pro revolution or anything at this point, and I hope I never will be but that is an option that should be on the table in the future if our servant government continues down this path of Authoritarianism and violating our rights). I was at Independence Hall where our constitution was signed this past week, and they said I could not carry unless I was a leo since it was federal land. I then thought to myself...Your telling me, I can't CC where our founding fathers signed the fucking constitution (trying to get big government out of our lives) because it is federal land!:pissed: They would be rolling in their graves if they knew I could not carry because it was federal land where they wrote/singed our constitution. Thats is an oxy moron isn't it? Anyway, because of that incident I again got reminded that our government does not respect the very thing that freed us, and it will piss me off from time to time...and yes...I'm rambling:limp:

It is important for members that tend to lean to the Democratic side of the platform to encourage the party to distance them selves from Gun Control That has become a main part of the Democratic party plank at this point and must be changed.
A large part of blue collar America that is union based are hunters and gun owners. The unions support the Democratic Party so its up to you to make them support the second amendment.
That said, I support Fred Thompson at this point since he is about the only one on either side that has come out firmly in support of our second amendment rights. Just my personal opinion.
