It's a AKMS, Type 56 from Norinco. I got it for $300 before the '94 ban.

I've lately been bit with whatever bug infects one with AK fever. The other week I came close to bringing home a WASR AK from my local gunstore. Priced at around $359, I found it almost irresistable (generally I'm a cheap bastard)... but decided to come on home and do some further research. I'm now leaning towards an Arsenal with a milled receiver... and yeah, they had one, but at about 2.5x the price of the budget shopper's special WASR. The differences in apparent build quality were telling though.
