Never used it. I was thinking about it, but my XD is my carry gun and I don't want the stuff hanging up on my clothing.

That's all these people are doing. Getting skateboard tape and cutting it out.
I've used it before. but not on a a gun and it was a real pain to get off.

Won't that hurt after a while? I would think it rather abrasive.............

As long as you don't scrape your knuckles on it it's not that bad really. Just prevents slipping. Your grip should be the same every time you draw your gun, so there's not any moving of the tape on your hands.

Its like wrapping up a set of Harley pipes with that insulating tape. Looks tacky to me. I will put up the bucks for a nice set of hogue or rosewood grips. Or even the Hogue sleeves for the Glocks, they work well too.

I like to use bicycle inner tubes on Glocks.
Feels better than the Hogue sleeves to me.

I have never tried that. Sounds like something to take a serious look at.
Can you buy them in colors?

As an alternative to grip tape I'd recommend getting an Agrip.
I've used them on all of my Keltecs and it works great.
It's like sweat absorbent velvet. They even have the precut models you want.
Brooks, the inventor is a super nice guy. It's worth checking into.
