Here is an image of a 1942-43 made Browning Hi-Power that was Nazi stamped when they took over the factory in Belgium during the Blitzkrieg. These Hi-Powers were only issued to SS Officers. I don't know why but from the information I got, it says that it was issued to SS officers only. Anyway, I got this from a former Infantry Captain whom told me that his unit had surrounded an SS unit in the Ruhr Pocket in early 1945. He also said that the SS Company Commander said that he would surrender without conditions other than giving him five minutes to commit suicide. The U.S. Captain agreed too it and within a few minutes he heard a bang. He walked the 50 feet or so and found it laying in his hand and there was blood upon the upper receiver's left side so it would explain the rotted finish from blood pitting on it. That SS Officer was such a good sport. Great story, it maybe B.S. but it is a Nazi stamped Hi-Power and it has alot of history behind it. I hope you like the photo.

Looks like the same gun. This is my cousins. She has been referring to it as her "German Luger".

I have no clue of the history or where it came from, but looks pretty cool.

Yours still has the Nazi stamp on it? Anyway to get a clear pic of it? I used to collect Nazi stuff. Almost put out the cash for a real SS uniform with bullet holes in the jacket. I never bought it though and let go of all the items I had.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a clear markings on it. It has matching serial numbers and Waffenamt stamps near the slide release on the upper receiver, just behind on the trigger guard and on the front of the pistol under the barrel.

By the looks of it, your Browning may have to get wiped down well. Mine seems to shine a bit more. When was yours made?

Remember it's the only pistol used by Allies and Nazis during WWII other than a few 1934 Berettas.

Yeah, that gun definitely needs some serious cleaning. It's not mine so there's nothing I can do to it. I have no idea what the year is on it, but she does say it is from the war.

I worry about her with that thing though. She has that and an old Colt 32 Police Special. Both are in dangerously rough condition and she keeps them loaded for defense...

I'd buy it from her. Get her a Taurus 24/7 and trade it with her. That thing is collectible. It's got alot of history behind it.

I treasure WWII weapons, especially the oddballs like the Hi-Power with Nazi markings. I'll give her a Titanium, ported Taurus, silver in color with black rubber grips in .38 Special if she'll trade with me. I'll take care of that Browning. Considering the condition what your photo revealed, it's a fair trade. I'll even give her a box of Hydrashoks too. She sends it to my dealer, I'll send the Taurus to her gun dealer. This J-frame Taurus has gone through only 50 rounds and it has a lifetime guarantee for the life of the gun. It also has a internal safety lock on the hammer that locks and unlocks with a key. I got it as a gift from an in-law which I don't have anymore. Besides, I was wearing my G26 to compliment my G17 when I was an active cop. Since it's Titanium built with a steel lined barrel, it's a very light and a reputable 5-shot revolver and a .38 Special would be a good carry gun for her or for her nightstand. It is in excellent condition.

I think it's a pretty good deal. I'll even post a photo for you if you or she would consider it. No gimmicks. Just a straight trade.

Did ya get my PM?

I like the idea and if it was mine I'd do it yesterday. I don't even have it in my possession anymore.

If you have a pic or 2 I'll send them over to her and will let ya know what she says.

Seems as if the PM works. You want me to post the pics on the thread or PM too you? I even have a small cheapie holster for her as well.

My brother currently is holding the one my father brought back from WWII.
(Dad was 501st PctInf of the 101st ABD)
The markings are very clear on it... the Eagle carrying the swastika.
I don't have a current picture of the gun (sorry, I'll hit my brother up for one) but do have the original paper work still. :D

You two should decide who gets both of those. It doubles the value of the appraisal of the handgun your father got if the pistol has the documentation with it.

I would take the document and see if it needs repair and get that done. It's worth the money. Then one of you two will have to have both the capture papers and the pistol. Have it professionally appraised for insurance purposes. It is a historical icon and a family heirloom. Protect both of them...the paperwork and pistol.

By the way, I noticed that the paperwork read German pistol 7.65 mm. That would mean a .32 caliber. Are you sure it's a Browning Hi-Power and not a Walther PPK in .32? As far as I know Brownings Hi-Powers were only in 9mm at the time but Walther PPK's were in .32 ACP and .380 Auto. Call him to make sure.

I got pics of the Taurus for you on your PM. I'll also post it on the Taurus thread just in case OK? Give her a call ASAP. Like I said, I'll clean it up, repair it if necessary and it will never shoot a shot in anger again. It will be treasured by a WWII historian and collector.
