Thanks dude. I guess I folded under the pressure of you Penn. boys. Headhunter13 scored the referral.
Things have been busy and I haven't had much time for computer fun.
I am traveling on business to the republik of Kalifornistan all week. You should see some late night posts, and probably a lot of mis-spelled words as I am typing on my laptop with the mini-keyboard.
I guess I'll start browsing around.
Thanks for the invite....

You know, if I had another job lined up, I just might try it. Our security guys are absolutely nuts! Our company is one of those classic California based companies who has exported chaos to all of their facilities throughout the world. I actually had to write a site procedure for our facility in Utah in order to comply with a corporate policy that was written to meet a California regulation. The content of that procedure was one sentence; "The Utah facility does not need to comply with California regulation XXXXX.XX as the facility does not reside in the state of California".
Anyway, their gun policy is very strict, and clearly stated. I would probably be better off making a shoe bomb joke at the airport on the way home.:speechless:

Jeez!! That's, uh... Wow, I'm glad I have nothing to do with California and I'm nowhere near it.

California is a GREAT place to visit. I vacation in Cali. quite often. You just have to put up with what I consider to be a huge load of BS if you want to live here. Different strokes for different folks.

LOL!
These guys take their jobs WAY to seriously. They actually have badges! I love making cracker jack jokes about the badges. They laugh, but they give me the old ha ha ha, VERY FUNNY Mofo! kind of laugh. They really hate it when I ask them if, being a safety professional, if I can wear some sort of arm-band. I make light of them, but I am glad they take their jobs so seriously, they do perform a valuable function for our company. It is just hard to take them seriously when you have worked with security guards tasked with protecting all things nuclear. Most of whom have extensive experience and have served our country in ways that a lot of people will never appreciate. Oh yeah and they were heavily armed and were required to practice firing their *gasp* guns!
If our company ever decides to change their gun policy and allow the security dudes to carry firearms, I will end up blowing my entire budget on purchasing body armor for all of our employees:lol:

From the experience I had the last year with your company RF I have to say that people taking themselves there to serious is a trend. At least in the Corona, CA plant

Center mass, Headhunter13!
Given your line of business, you were probably dealing with the pointy end of the arrogant stick; HR. I feel your pain.
We refer to Corona as "the black box". Information goes in, gets swirled around for a while by the secret decision makers and totally irrational and sometimes unrelated decisions are spit back out. They not only take themselves too seriously, they have honed the art of exporting chaos. If they would leave our facility alone for a while, we could make them some serious casharoo, but they keep getting in the way.
All of that will hopefully change in the coming months with the announced change at the top.
Woo hoo, hang on folks.
Oh, sorry for the inside post that no one else will get besides us.
