I was curious here if anyone knew of someplace where I could buy the combat combo mods as add ons for my 96 or my 92 ?

I have been trying to do some web searching for a few weeks and am still coming up empty handed. While it isn't a real necessity, I would love to be able to add the set up to a couple of my guns.

So if anyone has any info please let me know. It would be much appreciated.

Unless you are planning on adding it to a Billie or other single action/frame mounted safety 9X series pistol it won't work. I got mine years ago from BUSA, but I had to buy each individual piece and assemble it myself. Also, good luck getting the barrel kits for them. Those all got snagged up by all of us on the BF. Don't know if they've restocked or not.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Well what I'm looking for Trigger is the longer barrel, supressor and the longer recoil rod and spring. I just haven't had any luck finding any online except for the one after market kit. But that one requires you to tap out two spots on the from of the slide for screws to be used and I don't want to damage the slide.

If I can't piece it together, it's not a biggy. Was just hoping that maybe the few pieces I was looking for might be bought somewhere.

Recoil Spring Guide for 150mm Barrel, part#C70337, $8.00
Castle Nut Tool (Combat Kits Only), part#C70195, $10.00
150mm 92 Combat Series Barrel Kit, part#264D122100000, $288.00
150mm 96 Combat Series Barrel Kit part#26A8111100000, $288.00
Standard Recoil Spring part#C59244, $8.00
Counterweight Sleeve Spring part#C90313, $2.00

That should give you a start. I have all of this because I just recently went through this ordeal in the process of collecting parts for my project pistol. I don't know if they are in stock or not, but you can follow up now that you have the part numbers and costs.

Good luck and happy hunting,
Trigger

Well what I'm looking for Trigger is the longer barrel, supressor...

Do you mean the counterweight sleeve on the extended portion of the barrel? The phrase supressor threw me off a little as it is usually reserved for "Silencers".

Appreciate the info. Yeah I believe the counter weight is what I was referring to. Basicly it's the piece added to the end of the slide that fits over the barrel that has some ports in it to reduce muzzle flip that is also mounted to the guide rod. I am looking to keep the barrel from moving at all, even when the slide is in the rear position.

What I am looking for is part #1 on this page -
along with getting the longer ported barrel and the longer recoil spring and guide rod. While it wouldn't be a true combat combo, it would enhance the gun enough, I believe, to lay out the additional money to do it.

I have the CTC grips I got from BF. And while I do love em there is no guarentee that they will work if I ever need them in an emergency. Now I will keep good batteries in them at all times, but sometimes shit just happens. SO I will be getting new lamps put in to replace the dead ones when I can.

But I am really wanting to turn this into a tack driver as much as I can. While I consider myself a good shot and should never have any problem hitting what I am aiming at, anything that I can do to increase the accuracy of my carry weapon is what I am after.

So please feel free to make any suggestions that you all see fit, that will help in this endeavor. I do appreciate the info supplied so far and look forward to getting more info if possible.

Thanks -Kevin

Kevin ,

All of those things will NOT lock up the barrel in any way at all. They are not ported, nor are they heavy enough to truly be called a "Counterweight."

If you want the barrel to lock-up you will need to have it fit and cut for a barrel bushing. Similar to a 1911. David Sams is who I would suggest for this. He is finishing mine as we speak. Keep reading this and see for yourself if it is a direction you wish to persue.

If you want these kind of things for a carry gun I think you may be splitting hairs. 1.) Combat shooting is not target shooting. Three inch barrels are more than sufficient for protective shooting. A 6" or 7" barrel isn't going to amount to anything until you start shooting at 25 yards. Dead on isn't going to happen in combat/protective shooting. 2.) the liability you take on with a modified gun for carry is enormous. A stock gun with a trigger job at most. 3.) A longer barrel (150mm/6 inch) isn't anywhere close to practical for carry. The kind of pistol you are wanting to set up is a combat competition style pistol, a tactical team pistol, or a 50 yard target pistol.

New Trijicon lamps for your night sights are $18.00 per lamp. $54.00 for all three including shipping. All they need is your slide. Just send it to Trijicon.

I know a lot about this for a number of reasons. Look at my signature for part of the explanation. More importantly, I am building a pistol similar to what you are talking about. What you are describing will cost you about $2500.00 at best. Then it still doesn't cover the liability a lawyer would imply in a court of law.

I'm not trying to disrespect you are discourage you. I just don't want you to shell out an enormous amount of money for something that either will not perform for you in the manner you want it to or for something that could cause you more harm than good in a court room.

I appreciate the info Trigger. I'll tell you I was under the impression that the barrel used in the comabt combo was ported. I was also under the impression that the bushing what attached to the barrel and the guide rod in order to prevent the barrel from moving at all.

Also I didn't really think there would be any liability as Indiana has the Castle Doctran type law that allows me to defend myself not only in my home but also in my vehicle. But you may be right about the liability. I was just looking for a way to get the best accuracy I can out of my carry gun. I have been looking into possibly getting an 96 Elite II but was thinking that this route may be a cheaper alternative.

Guess I will just have to start saving up my money once I have my Inox out of layaway and see about just picking up an Elite.

I really appreciate your time and all the info you have provided. I am always open to learning something new :)

An Elite is probably the least expensive AND best option you have. Don't misunderstand, the inox you are buying is more than adequate. The Elite is just, well, an Elite and you should get it. Definately less expensive than building a pistol project. Believe me. My concern isn't THAT you defended yourself (Castle Law), as it is WHAT you defended yourself with. If you defend yourself with a factory pistol that is represented by, covered under, and FULLY designed by a major firearms company then the burden of liability is on the company should the firearm not function properly and accidently cause injury or death (assuming your maintainance on said pistol is proper). BUT when you enter a court room nd the jurors hear about your MODIFIED, super-duper, EXPERIMENTAL pistol that is outside of the specifications of the manufacturer... well that certainly proves negligence doesn't it? You and I know that's not true, but jurors are stupid and they will fall for any old line a strong personality can feed them. If I could meet women that were as dumb as jurors (collectively), my bed would never be cold.

Good luck and I hope this helps,

Anytime. I can't wait until my project Beretta is complete. I'll be posting reviews and range reports ASAP. It will be sometime in Nov/Dec time frame.
